Rev. Dr. Roderick Williams, Sr., Senior Pastor
HISTORY & EDUCATION
Dr. Roderick Williams, Sr. is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He is the fifth child of Edward and Jacqueline Williams. He was born March 1st. 1960. He accepted his call to minister at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (PMBC) on June 16, 1992, and delivered his first sermon on July 5, 1992. Dr. Williams has served as the proud Pastor of (PMBC) for the past twenty- seven years.
Dr. Roderick Williams, Sr. is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He is the fifth child of Edward and Jacqueline Williams. He was born March 1st. 1960. Second Baptist Church of Vincennes, Indiana licensed Dr. Williams October 7, 1979. He was ordained September 18, 1991 by St. Stephen Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He was educated in the Louisville public school system. He attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville where he received his Master of Divinity in 1991 and A Doctor of Ministry in 2018. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Simmons Bible College in Louisville and an Associate in Science from Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana.
He currently serves as Second Vice president of the Missouri State Congress of Christian Education.
ACHIEVEMENTS & AWARDS
Achievements include serving as a Specialist for the Dean of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education Third Vice President of the Missouri State Congress of Christian Education. Dr. Williams served as Moderator of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist District Association, Inc. Dr. Williams also served on the Executive Board of the Mt. Carmel District Association. He has served as Executive Secretary, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. In 1986, he received the Minister’s Wives Council award for most improved student by Simmons Bible College. In 1987, he received the Clyde T. Francisco preaching Scholarship by Southern Seminary. He has four Certificates of Achievement from WHW Expository Preaching Ministry. He is an Honorary Commissioner for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council. Dr. Williams has received twenty – seven units of continuing education credit at Asbury Theological Seminary through participation in the Beeson Institute for Advanced Church Leadership.

PERSONAL
Dr. Williams is an avid cyclist and enjoys gardening. Dr. Williams and his wife Denise have lived in Columbia since 1992. They share two adult children, Roderick, Jr. and Joshua, and one grandchild, Malcolm Benjamin. Dr. Williams’s favorite Scripture passage is Philippians 4:13. His favorite movies are The Five Heartbeats and Radio. His favorite hymn is Even Me. His favorite quote is “it is impossible to obey God and not be blessed.”
